The Road Atlanta circuit is near the Georgia state capital, in a hilly area whose slopes increase the track's level of difficulty and at the same time offer spectacular natural grandstands for the spectators.
The track is 2.44 miles long and consists of 12 curves. After the starting straight comes the right-hand turn 1, where you need to take care on exiting. A tricky stretch immediately follows, made up of curves and counter curves. Five rapid bends in quick succession mean that the driver has to get the trajectory just right, as an error on one curve slows down the passage through all the others.A short stretch brings the drivers to the deceleration before turn 6, ideal for attempting a pass: the slow right turn connects with the next curve 7, also to the right. On exiting you accelerate to launch along the Backstretch, a straight where you can unleash all the power of your car, before the sharp braking at turn 10, a very demanding right-left double that precedes the last corner.
