The Ferrari Challenge Asia-Pacific debuted in 2011 and was immediately popular both in Asia and Oceania. In just eight seasons hundreds of drivers have been involved in exciting races often held in parallel with major motorsport events such as Formula 1 Grand Prix or FIA World Endurance Championship races.
Challenge races are always hard-fought and packed with duels. They also provide the highest levels of safety in that the championship is approved according International Automobile Federation (FIA) rules. The series is divided into three main categories, Trofeo Pirelli, Coppa Shell and Coppa Shell Am, based on the competitiveness of the drivers. So, there are three winners of each race, with two subclasses for the most experienced drivers, the Gentlemen’s Cup, and the Ladies’ Cup.
This season, Lebanese driver Tani Hanna has already sealed the Coppa Shell, while the Trofeo Pirelli, with three drivers still in the running, and the Coppa Shell Am, with two, David Dicker and Grant Baker, will be decided in the final round at Monza.
