The Ferrari Challenge North America debuted in 1994 and has since seen hundreds of drivers take part in the world’s most prestigious one-make races. Some of them have since become GT stars, while others have achieved victories in legendary races such as the 24 Hours of Daytona or the 12 Hours of Sebring.
The Challenge races are always hard-fought and packed with duels. They also provide the highest levels of safety in that the championship is approved according International Automobile Federation (FIA) rules. The North American series is divided into four main categories, Trofeo Pirelli, Trofeo Pirelli Am, Coppa Shell and Coppa Shell Am, based on the competitiveness of the drivers. So, there are four winners for each race, with even more of a show for fans at the circuit.
This season, Thomas Tippl (Scuderia Corsa – Ferrari of Beverly Hills) has already wrapped up the Coppa Shell, while the other rankings are yet to be decided. The Trofeo Pirelli sees a head-to-head battle between Cooper MacNeil (Scuderia Corsa – Ferrari of Beverly Hills) and Peter Ludwig (Wide World Ferrari). In the Trofeo Pirelli Am there six drivers still in with a shout, while there are three left in the Coppa Shell Am.
