Thanks to a fine showing in Imola, Agata Smolka (Rossocorsa) has taken the leadership in the Coppa Shell Am standings of the Ferrari Challenge Europe. Runner-up spot in Race-1 and a Race-2 victory on the Italian track allowed Agata to claim the top of the special standings with 133 points, six points ahead of Laurent De Meeus (Ferrari GB H. R. Owen).
The Polish driver has – momentarily – been able to command the order thanks to a string of positive results over various rounds. The championship leader relies on two previous victories (Race-1 in Bahrain and Spielberg) and two further runner-up finishes (Valencia and Nuerburgring). To her credit there are also points for 2 pole positions and 2 fastest race laps. The only un-ticked box remains the Le Mans, where she failed to secure points.
